Project Overview

Livelihood Assistance for Vulnerable Communities

Purpose and Goals

The primary purpose of the Livelihood Assistance Project is to empower vulnerable individuals, particularly widows, orphans, and the less privileged, with practical skills and resources that enable them to generate income and achieve self-sufficiency. The project aims to:

  1. Provide vocational training in various trades such as modern hairdressing, fashion designing, traditional embroidery, manicure and pedicure, and computer skills.

  2. Distribute essential start-up resources and materials to beneficiaries to help them establish their micro-enterprises.

  3. Foster a supportive community environment that encourages continuous learning and development.

  4. Incorporate evangelism and spiritual support as integral components of the program to nurture the participants' spiritual well-being.

Target Population

The project targets vulnerable individuals in Cameroon, including widows, orphans, people with disabilities, and the less privileged, with a specific focus on those from crisis-affected regions. The direct beneficiaries will include:

  • Widows who have lost their primary source of income.

  • Orphans and vulnerable children who lack educational and economic opportunities.

  • People with disabilities who face additional barriers to employment and income generation.

  • Internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have been uprooted from their homes and communities.

Project Location

The Livelihood Assistance Project will be implemented in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon, particularly in areas with high concentrations of internally displaced persons and vulnerable populations.

Measuring Success

The success of the project will be measured through:

  1. The number of individuals trained in various vocational skills.

  2. The number of beneficiaries who successfully establish micro-enterprises.
